Best Raleigh Neighborhoods

Best Raleigh Neighborhoods

One of my favorite Raleigh neighborhoods is Alyson Pond, located just north of 540 next to Durant Nature Park.  It is a place for families, singles, young and old looking for a safe neighborhood with a sense of community.  Here you will find friendly neighbors, sidewalks on every street, a clubhouse, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a playground, a pond for fishing, hiking and biking trails!  All of this with a low HOA fee of just $240 every six months.

Alyson Pond is ideally located just 5 minutes to Falls Lake, 20 minutes to RTP, 25 minutes to downtown Raleigh.  It is just down the street to shopping, restaurants, Wake Med North, the CASL soccer complex, the newly-opened Lifetime Fitness, the brand new Abbots Creek Community Center, Elementary School and playing fields.  There is just so much to offer nearby!

If you are considering a move to this neighborhood, it is important to keep your eye out and be ready to act quickly.  I have sold three houses in Alyson Pond this summer, all of which sold in five days or less.  They are selling fast!  If you need help in your search, let me know.  I am happy to help!  For more information about Alyson Pond and other great Raleigh neighborhoods, call me at (919) 280-0441.

Before & After: What do you think?

 What do you think?

This room has high ceilings and a beautiful bay window that was hidden by a console table and sofa.  I wanted to show off the window which is a huge selling feature so repositioned the furniture to the other wall.  The furnishings were also dated and monotone so I removed the hard glass and brass

items and brought in fresh bold colors for some contrast and softness.  This is the first room that you see when you enter the home so it was very important to get it right.  Thankfully, I think it got the job done.  The home was under contract after just five days on the market.  Staging success!

Before & After: Is this the same house?

Yes, this is the same house!  We repainted all the walls a soft, neutral color, we cleared the clutter, we removed extra, heavy furniture, added a few elegant touches and voila!

It looks so light, and inviting that the home went under contract at the open house!

After a thorough cleaning by my crew, major decluttering, repainting and simple staging, the kitchen was transformed.

Now the kitchen looks open and spacious - ready for entertaining!

Artsplosure: Great family fun

Artsplosure: Great Family Fun

It is my favorite weekend of the year in Raleigh.  The weather is just perfect and it's time for Artsplosure!  The streets are closed down for blocks around Moore Square and set up with activities, entertainment, art booths and food trucks.  My favorite each year is the sand sculpture - can't wait to see what they are creating this year.  I always come away with a few art pieces for the home & garden and I come away feeling grateful that I live in Raleigh.  Come out & enjoy the city with the whole family!

Staging makes all the difference!

Staging Makes all the Difference

This was a beautiful home with a great open floor plan, but the living room needed just a few fixes to make it inviting to buyers.  The color was taste-specific and the furniture layout made the space seem small with two large sofas taking up most of the floor space.

 Before

All we did is repaint the walls a warm taupe color, craigslist the big blue sofa, place a large painting above the mantel, and add a few warm touches with plants & decorative items.  What a difference! The house had two great offers by the end of the open house on day one!

Before & After

This is the space as I first saw it. A nice room, but it felt dark and cluttered.  I knew we could do better so I recommended putting in bright, granite counters and new, light tile in the kitchen.  I also removed the bold carpet to show off the floors, rearranged the furniture, added a few staging props and voila!

Now the room is warm and inviting - just the place to put up your feet and relax!

Open house: Sat 4/18 & 4/19 1:00 - 5:00

My open house last weekend was a huge success.  60+ people came to visit and see the lovely home. 8 offers were made and the final outcome was a sales price well-over the list price.  It was a hectic 2 days, but in the end, the sellers are happy, the buyer is happy and I feel on top of the world!

Why Buy and Invest in the Triangle?

Research Triangle Park, which includes Raleigh, Durham and Cary, is the land of opportunity!  The Triangle has a strong economy, great schools, from elementary education through to university, safe & beautiful neighborhoods, and there are so many things to do, from sports, shopping & arts to museums, theater & parks.  This area epitomizes the American dream.  The future is in the Triangle!

Being home to such well-known universities as Duke, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, and Wake Forest fuels a young and educated population in the Research Triangle.  The universities are some of the area’s biggest employers, but small businesses also thrive here, with nearly 30,000 in Raleigh alone.

The Research Triangle Park is not only one of the largest research parks in the world, it is also one of the most prominent high-tech research and development centers in the United States.  The area houses 178 companies, including thirteen of the Fortune 500. The Triangle’s success as a regional employer and engine of economic growth is also suggested by the growing average income in the area.  All of the area’s economic growth has lead to an population boom as well.  In the past ten years, the population has grown by 40 percent and it shows no signs of slowing.

Aside from business, the Triangle has so much to offer families. Homes in safe, quiet, beautiful neighborhoods are large and affordable. All children have access to free, quality, public education that is close to home. Triangle children also have access to extracurricular activities, including ballet, gymnastics, music, martial arts, sports, theater, art, just to name a few.

Educational experiences are available at Triangle museums as well, including the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, North Carolina History Museum, Museum of Life and Sciences, North Carolina Museum of Art, the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh, Marbles Children’s Museum, and more.

In addition, the arts are plentiful in the Triangle.  There is a thriving music scene with local talent, big-name concerts at one of the five large amphitheaters, and it’s own the North Carolina Symphony.  There are opportunities to enjoy plays with several local theaters, including The North Carolina Theater and traveling Broadway shows in one of the large auditoriums.  World-class dance is available each summer with the American Dance Festival.  Additionally, the Triangle has it’s own ballet company, the Carolina Ballet.

The Triangle offers a wide-array of parks and facilities.  Parks and lakes are stomping grounds for friends and families to play, bike, jog, fish, and relax. These natural spaces also preserve plant life, and improve air, water, and soil quality for the community and promote high standards of living, attracting business and enhancing property values.

The list of advantages about the Triangle area could go on and on and on…If you would like to learn how to make this your home, please contact us today.  We will happily answer any questions you may have.  Your piece of the American dream may be cheaper and easier than you think. Let’s make it happen for you and your family!
